In the first few weeks since coming to SNC and moving into Bergstrom Hall, it’s been anything but boring. Keeping up with years in the past, plenty of jokes and strange items have surfaced throughout the residence hall, and everyone is looking forward to more in the future.
Those of you who have been in the first floor lounge, have done your laundry since coming to campus, or have stored things in the first floor freezer may have seen a few Among Us characters around. The purple one has been unfrozen at least once, but somehow it keeps ending up frozen in a giant ice cube. There have also been a few items people have been on the lookout for, so if you see a shovel or a butter knife anywhere, make sure to return them to their rightful owners! The butter knife has traveled between floors trying to find its place, but don’t worry if you’re trying to find it– it’s very hard to miss.
Speaking of shovels, some may have heard of the shovel-wielding resident of Bergstrom who’s spooked a few people since the start of school. Ceilings are a great place for empty space, not so much for storing shovels, but they sure help to add an element of surprise when you get it out.
If you haven’t heard the story, it’s not as bad as it sounds. While being shown around Bergstrom Hall shortly after the semester began, several girls were surprise when one of the first floor’s residents turned around, revealing that he was carrying a shovel, and walked creepily toward them. It sounds memorable, but it’s definitely a scene that sounds like it’s straight out of a horror movie.
Onto more lighter subjects, we can thank Meaghan and Ava for the many group gatherings and activities that have happened during the first few weeks of school. Thanks to Meaghan’s planning and Ava’s beautiful posters, lots of fun activities have been hosted in Bergstrom and off-campus, the most memorable being Just Dance parties, game nights, and a trip to Bay Beach. Check the doors of the bathrooms for signs of upcoming events! We can also thank Meaghan for the midnight volleyball games, which have been happening almost every night since the first week of school, and we’re looking forward to future events!
Lastly, now that it’s been a while since school has started, we’ve started to see some decorations on doors. Ellie and Kaitlyn’s door sports cute fall decorations with their initials, doors downstairs with memes drawn on, and even an art display using push pins on corkboard. One whiteboard that’s been getting a lot of attention lately is the one that belongs to room 201, home to Megan and Anna- which displays weekly polls. If you haven’t voted yet for this week, make sure to check it out. Some past winners include swimming over soccer, Driver is the DJ over Driver’s License, and by a very small margin, the majority decided that pop tarts are not, in fact, a ravioli.
That concludes the “Bergstrom Happenings” for the first few weeks- let’s keep up the fun and have a great rest of the semester!

I lived in Bergstrom Hall in 1990-91 and was an RA there is 1991-92. Love this update! So good to see shenanigans still going on. (:
